Fist Full O’Snacks (Vancouver, CA)

breathtaking vocal harmonies, skeletal piano riffs, and lovably strange songs about birds, blood forests, and paper people... one of the most fascinating and singular musical projects to come out of Vancouver in recent memory”- -discorder magazine

”Robyn Jacob entwines cascading keyboard melodies with the steadiness of her crystallizing vocals….we are left to climb the strands to be enveloped in the waterfall of her stories”

Weird Canada

Robyn Jacob hails from Vancouver, Canada, unceded Coast Salish territory. Heavily influenced by the local mountains and water, she crafts unusual songs for keyboard that feature cross rhythmed and minimalist weavings.

After graduating from music school and looking for something relevant, she released her first album Of Course the Journey (2012), and since then has self released Climb the Glass Mountain (2014), which explores writing for vocal quartet as well as piano and synth. Since releasing her sophomore album, Fist Full o’ Snacks has been joined by three singers, double bass and drums, which bring an amazing new element and full sound to her inventive “ear candy” songs.

Outside of Fist Full o’ Snacks, Robyn is a music educator, and a DIY enthusiast. She loves biking, mushroom foraging, and community engagement. You can see her performing with Gamelan Bike Bike, as well as working with the community engaged artist collective Publik Secrets.

 Rowan Coupland (Berlin/UK)

Rowan Coupland is a singer who has travelled all over the world looking for songs, a troubadour singing and performing with an astonishing voice and complex and delicate fingerpicked harp and guitar.

Veering from the most full blooded howls of the classic blues singers to wide eyed wonderment of the saddest folk song, his lyrics travel from his home in England to the streets of Paris, the mountains and lakes of Canada, and to the Berlin winter.

Album of the year, 2012- Brighton Music Blog

‘Thoroughly beguiling neo folk’ –Time Out London
